You can earn up to 16 college units for simply continuing to work!

Cooperative Education

What do I get from Cooperative Education?

Students are eligible to earn 3-4 units of credit per semester up to a total of 16 units. These credits:

bulletAllows the student to graduate sooner
bulletAre transferable to the California State University (8 units as electives)
bulletAre counted toward an associate degree (as electives)
bulletCOOP  letter grade units apply to your GPA
bulletFulfills requirements for some Certificate Programs
bulletAre applicable for Social Security benefits

Students have the benefits of a real, paying job. The COOP job allows the student to: 

bulletBuild an excellent employment history
bulletGain valuable work experience
bulletPrepare for future advancement

How do I qualify for Cooperative Education?

bulletYou must be enrolled in a total of 7 units including COOP (except summer).
bulletIf you have a paid job, you can earn four units for twenty hours per week.
bulletIf you have a non-paid job you can earn up to four units for sixteen hours per week.
