What do I get from
Cooperative Education?
Students are eligible to earn
3-4 units of credit per semester up to a total of 16 units. These credits:
| Allows the student to graduate sooner | |
| Are transferable to the California State University (8 units as electives) | |
| Are counted toward an associate degree (as electives) | |
| COOP letter grade units apply to your GPA | |
| Fulfills requirements for some Certificate Programs | |
| Are applicable for Social Security benefits |
Students have the benefits of
a real, paying job. The COOP job allows the student to:
| Build an excellent employment history | |
| Gain valuable work experience | |
| Prepare for future advancement |
How do I qualify for
Cooperative Education?
| You must be enrolled in a total of 7 units including COOP (except summer). | |
| If you have a paid job, you can earn four units for twenty hours per week. | |
| If you have a non-paid
job you can earn up to four units for sixteen hours per week. | |
