Online Math 142- 5002/5003
Spring 2010
Statistics with Probability

Syllabus Online Math 142 Sp10

This course covers the same material as the on-campus version and is presented as 15 modules in a 17-18-week format. Although the course is not "self-paced", you can decide when, during each week, to do all the required work. The typical student spends about 12-15 hours per week to master the material for this 4-unit course. In addition to the text work, students will be visiting exciting websites each week to view statistics in real life, complete 15 weekly online homework assignments and participate in a supportive and informative classroom discussion board. Students will be using an interactive online program (Course Compass)  to master the material. There will be three on-campus exams and students may use a note card with formulas for each exam so memorizing formulas will not be necessary. Students are requested to attend one of the orientations that I offer for Spring 2010.

Cick on the syllabus to the left for more detailed information. The Course Compass ID for this course is:kresch31986 and the zip code for DVC is 94523. That is some  information you will need to register at Course Compass.

To access the course during the first week of classes go to http://coursecompass.com

If my classes are full and you want to add, please add the waitlist and come to the first face to face Saturday orientation on January 23, 2010  at 10am in MA101 (Pleasant Hill Campus) and I will try to accommodate you. I rarely turn online students away that are on the waitlist but, of course, if the demand is ridiculous I might not be able to take everyone. That has not happened yet! Be sure to take care of your prerequisite issues since I have no control over that.....you must take up the issues with admissions and records at DVC!

An alternate online orientation will be given on Sat. Jan. 30, 2010 at 10am at http://cccconfer.org. Log in information is on the syllabus.
