In 2005, Diablo Valley College (DVC) received an HP Technology for Teaching
grant to enhance the Calculus II curriculum
using mobile technology. As
part of that effort, Calculus students at DVC are using Tablet PCs to
record data in science labs and to work on collaborative projects
that provide evidence of
the calculus theory. Because the Tablet is so readily portable and
convertible, students directly record data in Excel spreadsheets while
conducting the experiments. That simplifies the work and makes the data
collection more relevant as some basic calculations can be done
instantly at the lab. |
