ARCHI 130 ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHICS I
3 Credits
An introduction to graphics for architects. A study of the use of drawing as a tool in architecture. Problem solving in orthographic and pictorial projection and drawing. Topics includes: lettering, perspective, paraline drawing, color technique, and shades and shadows. Emphasis on mechanical drafting with pencil and introduction to other media.

In the tradition of the Beaux-Arts education and classic drafting and descriptive geometry classes, Architecture Graphics I covers projection systems, geometry, shadow casting and rendering methods.

ARCHI 131 ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHICS II
3 Credits
Advanced exploration of drawing techniques utilizing freehand and mechanical drawing methods of representation. Emphasis on perspective drawing, shade and tone, color theory, and the mental ordering processes involved in accurately representing the built environment.

Architectural students transferring to four year institutions are required to complete one semester of freehand drawing, exploration of composition, shades and tone and artistic media.
